Are your bakery products suitable for vegetarians?

Yes! Coburn & Baker is a strictly vegetarian bakery. We do not handle any meat or fish on-site. Additionally, we take great pride in using only free-range eggs for all our traditional and contemporary baking.

Do you offer vegan and gluten-free options?

Absolutely. We specialize in both gluten-free and vegan baking, offering a wide range of dedicated artisan breads, sweet treats, cakes, and savouries. To ensure total peace of mind and prevent cross-contamination, all of our gluten-free products are crafted in a separate, dedicated gluten-free production room on-site.

Where do you deliver home orders?

We currently offer home delivery for private orders exclusively within the Brighton & Hove area.

What days do you deliver?

For private home delivery orders, we deliver on Wednesdays and Fridays only.

What is the minimum order value and how much is delivery?

We require a minimum order value of £20 for delivery or collection. Delivery within Brighton & Hove carries a small delivery fee, but all orders over £20 qualify for free delivery.

What time will my delivery arrive?

We aim to complete our local deliveries by midday on your chosen delivery day. Because our delivery routes vary depending on how busy our wholesale and private orders are, we occasionally run slightly past 12:00 PM. If your order hasn't arrived by noon, please bear with us, but feel free to call the office to double-check its progress!

What is the order cut-off time for home delivery?

- Bread, Pastries, & Savouries: Please place your order by 12:00 noon the day before your chosen delivery day (Tuesday noon for Wednesday delivery; Thursday noon for Friday delivery).
- Cakes & Patisserie: Cake items require extra preparation. For Wednesday delivery, order by 12:00 noon on Sunday. For Friday delivery, order by 12:00 noon on Wednesday.

Can I collect my order directly from the bakery?

Yes, you are very welcome to collect your order from us. The same ordering cut-off times apply for collections as they do for home deliveries (e.g., bread orders must be placed before 12:00 noon the day prior).

Where are you located and what are the collection hours?

You can collect your items between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM from our bakery in Bevendean, Brighton:
Address: Unit 9.2 The Hyde, Auckland Drive, Brighton, BN2 4JE (We are located directly opposite Fun Plex).

What sizes are your occasion cakes and can they be personalized?

Our unique, hand-decorated artisan occasion cakes come in two sizes: 6” cakes (up to 6 slices) and 10” cakes (up to 16 slices). We also offer personalized writing decoration for a small extra charge. You can view all styles and pricing directly in our online shop.

When do I need to order an occasion cake?

Because our celebration cakes are baked and decorated to order, we strict deadlines:
- Order by 12:00 noon on Sunday for a Wednesday delivery/collection.
- Order by 12:00 noon on Wednesday for a Friday delivery/collection.

Do you supply commercial businesses?

Yes! Established in Brighton in 2000, Coburn & Baker is primarily a thriving wholesale artisan bakery. Our team bakes 7 days a week to supply handcrafted sourdough, fine patisserie, traditional breads, and unique tarts to hotels, cafes, restaurants, gourmet shops, and caterers throughout Sussex and beyond.

How do I set up a wholesale trading account?

You can request to open a trade account by visiting our Wholesale page and filling out our contact form, or by reaching out to our office directly at info@coburnandbaker.co.uk.

I am an existing wholesale customer. How do I order online?

You can now place your regular trade orders through our website! Simply email us at info@coburnandbaker.co.uk to request your online login credentials.

How do I redeem a Coburn & Baker gift card?

To use your gift card, check your balance using the link provided on our shop page. Then, contact our office via email (info@coburnandbaker.co.uk) or call us on 01273 414166 / 01273 414104 between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Provide us with your order details, preferred delivery/collection date, and the code on your gift card, and we will send over your confirmation.
